Welcome to the neighborhood

I made this card for the new neighbors who just moved in last month. When the kids were out trick-or-treating, we stopped by their house and they were so friendly.....I got a quick tour of the downstairs and was amazed at how warm the house appeared - so "lived" in, despite the short length of time they had been there. They said it was their fourth house in the past few years. WOW! So this past week, I quickly made them this card. It was a card inspired by Debbie Olsen's card from the Papertrey gallery. I loved the card she created, but felt that I needed to make a more earthy tone card. I used river rock and some textured brown cardstock for the base, then stamped the house on the shimmery white cardstock. I colored the house with some copics, taking the time to make sure that the eaves and porch had some shadowing, just like Debbie showed on her card. I stamped the trees separately, then trimmed them out, colored them with copics and adhered them to the card with dimensionals. The sentiment is from the same set (boards and beams). I used a brown polkadot ribbon {mayarts/starlitstudio} in a bow on the front of the card. Simple and fun. I used the "Love overflows and joy never ends in a home that's blessed with family & friends" sentiment for the inside.

Thanks for the inspiration Debbie!

stamp: boards and beams {papertrey ink}
paper: river rock, brown textured (DCWV), shimmery white
ink: black soot
misc: ribbon {mayarts/starlitstudio}, dimensionals, copics

I love your freckles and your eyebrows look real not fake!
I wanted freckles and red hair like Anne of green gables so bad when I was young so finally as a grown-up of 18 I dyed my hair red it looked awful so even thou I have green eyes I now am "blond"
Love your cards and don't write often enough to tell you but I had to say something about your lovely freckles ---I'm green with envy! D
