FS132: Stamp Muse

The {black and white polka dot} card was my case card. Stamp Muse's card was so elegant with the black and white, but I decided to change it up and use some autumn colors....and showcase the Autumn Tag set just released yesterday by Papertrey ink.

My changes from the original card:
colors, stamp set, added a button

I used a white base with the swiss dots folder. Then I used some DCWV glitter and designer paper. The main image is stamped with red ink and die cut with a nestie. There is a layer of the designer paper and the glitter paper, also cut with nesties. The papertrey ribbon is folded around the edges, then on the bottom corner, I added a white papertrey button which is threaded with a ribbon (small sheer red ribbon from my stash).

That's it -- check out the whole set at Papertrey {here}.

stamp: Autumn Tags {Papertrey Ink}
ink: red
paper: white, DCWV paper (glitter and non glitter)
misc: polkadot ribbon (papertrey ink), button (papertrey ink), nesties, ribbon (red sheer), cuttlebug (swiss dots)

Sneak Peek: Papertrey Ink Halloween Tags

Here are two cards which I created using the new PTI Halloween Tags set which is coming out on the 15th of this month. The first card features the plum pudding base and summer sunrise on the tag, along with black cardstock. The designer paper is papertrey as well. Several buttons (with orange floss) on the side of the card. The scalloped sentiment/image is raised on foam tape.

The sentiment is *SO FUN!*

This second card uses some basic grey paper for the background...another fun punched tag and a little sewing action on the new leaf paper strip. Again the tag is raised up on foam dimensionals... I used the sentiment from Spooky Sweets on the new leaf twill. A papertrey button with a tiny strip of paper threaded through the button, then curled by hand...that's a new addition for me, but CUTE!!!

I love this hat and how it came out so FUN! I think using the hat with a star prints background would also make a super cute card!

Thanks for looking!

I was so thrilled to be a part of this (and the upcoming Autumn Tag set).....

FS131: Sleepyinseattle

This is the card I made for this week's featured stamper challenge. This week's stamper is Joanne. {here} is the card which I cased. I changed the colors and the stamp set. I also used velvet rick rack and polka dot ribbon instead of the rope. I added the sentiment on the bottom....

I used the houndstooth embossing folder on the base of the card. A layer of white, then some designer paper, punched with the martha stewart edge punch. A layer of red, then the velvet rick rack. I tucked a folded polkadot ribbon under the main image. The sentiment and stamp are from the the Reindeer kisses stamp set. Since Santa's hat was "off" the oval, I stamped him twice, cut out his hat and colored it, then attached it to the main image. He is colored with copics, then I used a little stickles on the tip of his hat, and his white fringes. I also dotted the edge of the red scalloped portion with some stickles! This is one cute Santa! Finally...I stamped and cut out the star from the set, colored with copics and attached it to Santa's hands with a foam square. DONE!!!

The main image is punched with a marvy scalloped circle punch and the edges are sponged with copper ink.

CAS26: Friendly Flowers

Welcome to my sneak peek of Friendly Flowers...Did you know that Our Craft Lounge is releasing 31 sets this week in many online and retail stores! THIRTY ONE!!! Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net {GASP} And, you HAVE to check out OCL’s NEW Blog! (Do you see anyone's handywork there??? wink). They are dividing up the sneak peek into 3 days - so 1/3 of the sets will be shown today, 1/3 tomorrow and 1/3 on Thursday....That equals 100% fun -- BUT WAIT! There will also be blog candy and a blog hop on THURSDAY! Did you know Thursday is German for blog candy....just kiddin! But there will be a toFree Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net of a fun new HALLOWEEN SET! {Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net}

So that card over there is made with the new Friendly Flowers set -- I stamped the flowers with black, trimmed them out and then colored with copics....They have two kinds of sparkle fluff on them -- I am *NOT* playin around here people -- this is serious business...we are talking sneak peeks folks...I can't be single fluffing...Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.net I needed to bling up the the card - so I double - sparkle fluff'd it! {nods}...Oh Yes I did!

The designer paper is Basic Grey....and since I am not playin around (insert serious face).....I decided to partake in a CAS (clean & simple) challenge -- stitching. I spent at least 30 minutes trying to get my bobbin to work! Free Smiley Courtesy of www.millan.netI could not get the darn thing to work....so I sewed on the card withOUT thread....YEP! Not playin! (remember)....It worked -- (check out the bottom of the card)....So that's the card -- double sparkle fluff and some faux stitching....minus the 30 minutes I spent with the bobbin...this card only took a few minutes!

If you are feelin' groovy, check out the card my friend Kisa also made with Friendly Flowers {here}.

Our Craft Lounge Friendly Flowers, sparkle fluff (cotton candy) and (Rockin' Pink). Ribbon (mayarts), button (Papertrey), copics (rv10, rv11, rv13, r20), cuttlebug (bloom dots), foam tape, sentiment printed on computer

paper: pretty in pink, bashful blue, apricot, basic grey, white

Our Brush with politics....

Back in July -- Todd called me up and told me that he got an email saying that the Vice President (Joe Biden) was coming to the area to give a talk about economy and the stimulus package...

...not only was the VP coming to the area -- but he was coming to our local high school! SHAZAM!!!! That made me sit up and take notice (actually, I was out shopping at the Tar-jay and he wanted me to bring him a lawn chair for his wait in line). That day -- he ended up getting interviewed while sitting in line for the tickets and was ALL over the news...I think it was the bright orange golf shirt he had on...

Todd ended up sitting in line and getting us tickets to this exclusive event. Although we may be much more conservative than most of the crowd, we still found it to be an incredible honor to go see the Vice President. How often does the sitting Vice President of the United States come to your school district?

Uh...not often....

Todd was able to get several seats, but at the last moment, one of the ticket holders could not make it -- so we decided to take Victoria!

What an amazing experience for her....

after the speech, I looked at Todd and said "I'm taking her"...I grabbed Victoria's wrist and we went to the front of the gymnasium...where they had the barriers put up....

We first met the Governor of New York (David Patterson). David is an amazing speaker...not only because of his eloquence, but his need to memorize his speeches since he cannot read the teleprompter. He is legally blind.....

David was very sweet to Victoria, greeting her and asking her if she liked school...what she was doing this summer....

then ....suddenly....say it isn't so Joe....

there he was...

JB the VP ....right before us....
and he took the time to talk to Victoria....came up - looked into her eyes...admired her freckles and told her that she should send a thank you note to me for those beautiful blue eyes....

What a grand experience!

FS130: VA.Sunshine....

This is the based on the Thinking of you by Teresa.

I loved the colors - so I kept them (using ruby red, not real red)...then changing the stamp set and the ribbon.

I needed to make a birthday card for my little man -- he is six today! I used the cupcake and the present from the Our Craft Lounge set Snail Mail. I stamped them on shimmery ivory paper with black soot ink, then colored them with copics. I used copics to dot around the card too to fill in the white space. I used appletini green sparkle fluff on the present ribbon.....

The sentiment is also from the Snail Mail set. Ribbon from Mayarts.

Here is my little man....lovin the card!

And he was surrounded by his girls tonight....

Happy birthday little man....

stamps: Snail Mail {Our Craft Lounge}
paper: black, shimmery vanilla, ruby misc: appletini green sparkle fluff,
mayarts ribbon
