Here is a great masculine holiday card I made for Victoria's teacher. I used it as the class gift card. It was based on LeisaJane's card {here}. I changed the colors and stamp set, added buttons and some DPE.

I used my Winter Swirls stamp set sentiment and used the large and small snowflake punches. Snowflakes were adhered with dimensionals and some stickles were placed on each snowflake. I added some PTI buttons to the center of the card.

stamps: Winter Swirls (PTI)
paper: white, avocado, designer paper (PTI), spring moss
ink: avocado
misc: dimensionals, stickles, buttons (PTI), swiss dots DPE folder, snowflake punches

Introducing 2010 Love Tags! and Percy!

Here is my contribution to the 2010 Love Tags. I am so excited to be a part of the Papertrey Ink stamp design team. It is so awesome to see the way my concepts come to life with Nichole the amazing design team! What do you think of this year's tag collection. I cannot wait to get my hands on it!

What did you love about this years Papertrey Ink collection? My favorite release this year was Been Boo'd! I love the way it came together and I {heart} all those samples that people made with it!

I also love the holiday set (Tree with Trimmings) and my first release this past year {Springtime Doodles} - the design team really did a bang up job with both of those!

Next month, I have something *REALLY* special coming....so stay tuned!

I love your comments - so please - make sure to take the time to leave me some love.....

Today I am going to be wrapping the MOUNTAIN of presents piling up in my office.

And....finish the Holiday cards we are sending out - we do a holiday card because there are SO many cards to send....
Here is the concept I put together....it even includes our new puppy, Percy Jackson, a miniature golden-doodle (3/4 poodle, 1/4 golden retriever). He is a doll face!

We named him Percy after the character in the Rick Roirdan series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians (a must read!)....

He is perfect with the kids and seems to really be smitten with his mama! :)

FS201: Lisaadd

I really enjoyed Lisa's {CAS86 Merry Wreath} card. I knew it would be a fun case-able card!

I decided to change the colors and stamp set and eliminated the dry pressure embossing. I went with kraft, red and green instead of the white, red and green. I eliminated the dry pressure embossing on the background and went with a kraft base with a red layer. On the main image, I used a square piece of kraft cardstock. I started with a small circle (drawn with pencil) and I used a snowflake to create the wreath, first going around the circle with moss ink, then avocado ink, then finally, with new leaf ink. I used some small red gems (Amuse) on the wreath to give it some bling!

I used poppy ink for the sentiment. I was going to draw lines around the main image, like Lisa had on her card, but didn't feel like I had enough room, so I distressed the edges instead. I used a crimper (remember those) on the piece of artichoke, then added some ribbon. Finally, I added a ribbon, threaded with some rustic thread (PTI).

stamps: Papertrey Ink {Tree with Trimmings}
paper: kraft, poppy, artichoke {PTI}
ink: moss, avocado, new leaf, poppy
misc: poppy stitched ribbon (PTI), red gems (amuse), crimper, button (poppy, PTI), rustic thread (PTI), dimensions (under main image)

FS200: A time for reflection!

BEFORE I GET TO THIS WEEK'S FEATURED STAMPER, Please do me a huge favor and CONTINUE to VOTE FOR HANNAH'S HOPE FUND in the month of December! Last month, they went to #2 on the last day (they were in the money) and in the last 15 minutes, fell out of second place to #3. It was HEARTWRENCHING! Her parents, Lori & Matt are physically and emotionally spent. Instead of spending December getting out the vote, their friends and family are taking up the cause for them to create a HOLIDAY MIRACLE!

They are still 1.2 million dollars shy of being able to start the clinical trials and the $250,000 from Pepsi would really put a dent into the massive bill! Hannah is a six year old, first grader in Xavier's class. She is the sweetest little girl. Her parents are good friends who live in the next neighborhood over. Todd and I have taken up this cause, it is very close to my heart. Please take a moment from your stamping to vote for Hannah! Her life will be forever changed by the generosity of strangers! You can help make miracles happen!

#1 Vote for Hannah's Hope Fund today please!

#3: Vote on Facebook at:

#5: Vote on your iPhone.

Think about how you can help out - spread the word! Reflect on all the wonderful things in your life and how simple (and FREE) this cause is and YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!

(and here we go!!!) FS200!

DRUMROLL................
This week's Featured Stampers are the previous 199! Choose from ANYONE on {the list}.
Try and select someone who you have not cased before, or if you have done ALL 199 (I bow to you) - try and choose a card to case which you have not previously cased.

I chose PrincessHeather, from week 185 (FS185)!

Here is the card I made:

I changed the colors (to red, blue) and the theme to winter, removed the ribbon, added cord and used dry pressure embossing.

I loved the three cherries and the sentiment in the corner, so I used some poppy paper for the base, added a layer bashful blue with some swiss dots on the next layer, then stamped the ornament hanger in smokey shadow directly on the white. I stamped the pure poppy ornaments (circle) on white cardstock and then trimmed them out and popped them up on dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment in the corner, added some silver cord and then added some stickles to sparkle up the ornaments and hangers.

Simple and cute! THANKYOUVERYMUCH! (in my best Elvis voice).

In all seriousness, "tis the season" of hope and miracles. Please consider voting EVERYDAY for HHF in the Pepsi Refresh Challenge. What would you do for your child if they were dying! I would do anything, so I am helping get the word out for Hannah. Please share this with your friends and family this holiday season!

God Bless!

stamps: Winter Swirls (Papertrey Ink)
ink: poppy, smokey shadow
paper: poppy, white, bashful (SU!)

This is the LAST WEEKEND! We are down to the WIRE and we finally broke through to NUMBER 3! Please do me a huge favor and VOTE FOR HANNAH'S HOPE FUND! Here we go! On to this week's FEATURED STAMPER CARD! #199
Based on Krischir's Decade Gifts Cupcake card {here}.

I decided to change it to a holiday card: I stamped the three trees from Trees with trimmings in Navy ink on brocade paper, then trimmed them out. I adhered them to a die cut piece of navy paper with dimensionals. I used a piece of brocade cardstock and dry pressured embossed it with the snowflake folder. I stamped the sentiment (LET IT SNOW) three times in fresh snow ink on navy cardstock, then trimmed the edge to a v cut, just like Kris did, then added a button (PTI) with a piece of ribbon (mayarts) threaded through it. I mounted the whole shabang on navy cardstock and used two pieces of white ribbon to break up the design. Finally, I added some stickles to the trees.

stamps: trees with trimmings (PTI)
ink: navy, fresh snow
paper: brocade, navy
misc: ribbon, stickles, button, dimensionals, snowflake embossing folder, nesties

Here is the card I made for this week's challenge! I used the new stamp set by Our Craft Lounge called "Notes of Love". Isn't this a cute little ladybug card. Sophie's teacher called her Ladybug and she is *SO* my little ladybug. I think I will put this card aside to give her for a special occasion.

I cased Sarah's card {here}. Sarah (Criminalgrace) on SCS has a great clean style. Her card was the teal and black with a hint of pink. I decided to use kraft for the base of my main image. I liked the little pop of red on the card. I changed things by adding brads and making the card a square card. I also used the diamonds in the rough background.

It is so hard to see in the photograph, but for the ruffled edge, I used some satin ribbon and layered it then topped the ruffled satin with a strip of velvet rick rack. I used some brads to adhere the rick rack in place. The main image is popped up on dimensionals, colored with copics and then the ladybug has a hint of glitter courtesy of a sakura gel pen.

STAMPS = “Notes of Love” (new release from Our Craft Lounge)
PAPER = taken with teal, black, white, kraft
INK = black, copics
MISC = ribbon (black embossed satin and black velvet rickrack, may arts), sakura gel pen, dimensionals, square scalloped punches, diamonds in the rough embossing folder

FS194: CherylQuilts

I really loved the {sweet pea} card by Cheryl in her gallery, so I decided to make my last Halloween card of the year! It's bittersweet, because I ADORE Halloween! It's one of my favorite holidays! This year, my kids are dressing up as Goth Red Riding Hood (Karen), Hermione Granger (Vicky), Halloween Cheerleader (Bella), Storm Trooper (Xavier), Panda (Sophia), and 50s girl (Genevieve). Love it!

On to the card! The changes from the original - colors, main image shape, theme.

I used a textured cream base, then a fun orange patterned paper (very small polkadots), I used a black nestabilities die cut and stamped on the cream layer! I stamped the web and the spider on the main image, then went over the web with stickles. I used the orange ink with the sentiment on the main image (happy fright night) and black ink on the BOO! sentiment.
I added some black gems to the bottom - and finished it off with a fun ribbon! The main image is adhered with dimensionals!

Hope you have a SAFE & HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Stamps: Been Boo'd {Papertrey Ink}
Paper: Cream textured, cream, black, patterned paper
Ink: black, orange (PTI)
Misc: ribbon (mayarts), gems, dimensionals, nestabilities, stickles

FS194: LynniePoo

This week's card by Lynette {CAS Christmas} caught my eye. I cased it and made some changes - I added some bling, changed the colors to blues and white and changed the stamp set!

I used the scor-pal to create the score lines and I used the snowflake embossing folder on the darker blue layer. The snowflakes and the sentiment are from Trees with Trimmings. I used enchanted evening ink on the bashful blue paper, and layered it atop the brocade, embossed paper.

stamps: Trees with Trimmings {PTI}
ink: enchanted evenign
paper: white, bashful blue, brocade blue (SU!)
misc: gems (PTI), embossing folder (snowflake)

FS193: imamuttnut

this week's featured stamper card is based on Laurie's {CAS Halloween card}.

Here is my version:

I changed the colors and used a stamp set. Laurie had done her card with punches! I used the Been Boo'd stamp set. This was such a QUICK & Simple card, literally 3 minutes TOPS!

I used a PTI kraft base with a piece of My Minds Eye designer paper. I thought it looked very Halloween-ish. I stamped the ghosts on white cardstock and cut them out. I adhered them to the card with dimensionals. I stamped BOO! from the same set with black ink in the lower corner. I colored the eyes of the ghosts in with copic B000, and the exterior of the ghost with T1.

stamps: Been Boo'd (Papertrey Ink)
ink: black
paper: kraft, white, designer paper (My Minds Eye)
misc: dimensionals, copics

Sneak Peek: Holiday Tag Set 2010

Check out Nichole's Blog {here} for some links to ideas with this fun new set!

FS192: Jenndspencer

This week's featured stamper is Jenndspencer from SCS. Jenn's card {Quiet Snowfall} really caught my eye, so I decided to case it.

I changed the colors, stamp set and stamped snowflakes instead of using punched snowflakes. In lieu of pearls on the bottom, I used green gems (PTI). I only dry embossed on the lower layer, which in retrospect was quite foolish. YOU CAN'T EVEN SEE IT, LOL!

So here are the deets:

Kraft base, plum layer {dry embossed with snowflakes folder}, spring moss layer, stamped with my Trees with Trimmings set. I used the snowflakes and the star tree with spring moss ink. Fresh snow ink for the snowflakes on the kraft layer and PTI black ink for the sentiment. A few green PTI gems under the sentiment and WHAM BAM, THANK YOU MAM - it's done!
I am not feeling up to par tonight (must be the age - you hit 42....err, I mean 31, and your body protests) {snicker}.

stamps: Tree with Trimmings {PTI}
ink: spring moss, fresh snow, black (PTI)
paper: kraft, plum, spring moss
misc: snowflake embossing folder, PTI green gems

Sneak peek: PTI October

Just a little sneak peek of one item to come this month at Papertrey ink. I created this image, so I thought I would share the sneak peek as well!

Happy WCMD - and my FS191 card.....

HAPPY OCTOBER!!

I cannot believe that it is October (my favorite month of the year!) This month is full of birthdays (my brother Rich on October 5, my daughter Victoria will be 11 on the 7th, I will be 29 again on the 7th, my daughter Bella is 9 on the 18th, my nephew Liam will be 5 on the 21, my sister Karen will be 30 again on the 22nd, and my daughter Karen will be 13 on the 25th). That does not include my cousin Shannon, my nearly adopted daughter Tasia and a ton of friends who share a Boo-day in October. It finishes off with Halloween - and a Happy Hauntingly good time trick or treating!

So much to squeeze into 31 days!

Today is also World Card Making Day! I stamped and had fun (and didn't mess up my office too bad). This was the card I created for today for the Featured Stamper challenge. This is based on Alison's {inchie anniversary} card. Alison (alimarbles) on SCS has a great style!

I changed the colors and stamp set - loved the layout and the pierced line after the sentiment. I changed it to Halloween colors and used my "Been Boo'd" stamp set, available at Papertrey Ink. This is such a fun, simple card.
Here is a close up of the card!

clean and simple - just a cute little card - love the way that the ghost pokes his head from the side. I colored his eyes with copics, just to give them a hint of color!

stamps: Been Boo'd {Papertrey Ink}
paper: white, plum, new leaf, pumpkin, black (PTI)
ink: black
misc: square punch (one inch), paper piercer

FS190: Hobbydujour

Here is this week's FS card based on Sallie's card {Autumn Leaf}. Sallie, aka, Hobbydujour, is a great stamper and I loved the faux frame she created with her card.

I used textured cream, made the faux frame with my scor-pal. I distressed the chocolate layer. I altered the PTI cream cardstock using red, copper and coffee glimmer mist.
The trees were stamped with dark chocolate ink on PTI cream, then spritzed with coffee glimmer mist. Here is a close up! Trees and chocolate brown layers mounted with dimensionals.

Finally, I used some brads and the sentiment from Trees with trimmings.

stamps: Trees with trimmings (PTI)
paper: textured cream, PTI cream, dark chocolate
ink: dark chocolate
misc: Brown brads, dimensionals, glimmer mist

Fs189: eberlinek

This week's card is by Kristen (SCS's Eberlinek). Her card {celebrate} was something I wanted to case this week:

I changed the colors and the stamp set! It was such a fun layout! Love it! I started with a kraft base, added a layer of chocolate and then put on a layer of avocado. The trees were stamped in avocado ink on cream paper. They were trimmed and mounted on dimensionals. They are so easy to trim! I stamped the sentiment and star with chocolate ink on kraft paper. I wrapped the sentiment tag with cream twill. I added some red, clear and green gems on the various trees. I distressed the edges of the sentiment layer.
