FS173: Scoopy

This week's featured stamper is Scoopy! Love Emily's clean designs!

this card was so fun and simple to make! It was based on Emily's {song bird} card. I used the flower and bee from Pretty Petals and Say it with flowers. The changes from Emily's original design: added a button, used a different stamp set and slightly changed colors (added some red for POP!). I used the My Mind's Eye Quite Contrary designer paper, used a scalloped oval punch, stamped the flower in true black, then colored it with copics. I used a button on the center on the flower. The bee was also stamped in true black, then colored with copics. Sentiment stamped on pure poppy paper, then trimmed.

FS172: NCSUnikki

I found this {adorable card} by Nikki and knew it was the one I was going to case this week! I had to make Teddy a birthday card - Teddy moved in next door in December and he and Xavier have become fast friends. Teddy had his 7th birthday today - so the entire 6 pack went over for the party -- I had to make a cute card to go with the gifts!
The changes from the original card: colors, stamp set, used my nestabilities die instead of a square for the main image. This is DCWV paper, which is in a winter mat stack....looked very 7 year old boy to me! :) I used some generic green from my stash, then stamped on some PTI ivory paper. I used poppy, spring rain, summer sunrise, new leaf inks for the main image and then some Mayarts ribbon coupled with a blue PTI button. Main image is mounted on dimensionals! The stamps are from Get to the Point and Get to the Point Sentiments (Papertrey Ink).

stamps: {Get to the Point} {Get to the Point Sentiments} Papertrey Ink
paper: White (card base), Ivory (PTI), Green (SU!), Designer Paper {DCWV}
ink: pure poppy, new leaf, summer sunrise, spring rain
misc: nestablities dies, dimensionals, button (PTI, enchanted evening), ribbon (mayarts), corner rounder (SU!)

FS171: ctorina {So Happy 4 You}

This week's featured stamper is Cathleen (aka ctorina). I loved her {time flies} card - so I decided to case it - I kept the same basic layout, but added some buttons! I also changed the colors and the stamp set.

I used some DCWV paper from a winter mat stack I had in my collection. I placed a layer of scalloped pretty in pink paper (done with my large PTI scallop edge die) on the designer paper, then added a piece of the spring rain "faux rick rack" - cut with my PTI rick rack die. I used my scalloped edge punch on the spring rain layer, slightly cutting off the edge, then doing the same with a piece of PTI white cardstock. I stamped the * with hibiscus ink on the pretty in pink scallops.

For the stamped image, I used the arrow stamp, and inked it with hibiscus, but stamped off once. Then I stamped the sentiments in spring rain ink. I added a few PTI buttons to the card and SHAAAAZAM! done!

What do you think?

stamps: Get to the point, Get to the point sentiments {Papertrey Ink}
ink: hibiscus, spring rain

Sneak Peek: Get To The Point {Sincere Thanks}

Well I wanted to get scrappy today, but woke with a headache that has not subsided, so I am going to show you a card which I made with the sets {get to the point} and {get to the point sentiments}.

The card was so simple to make - I took a white base, stamped the * shape with hawaiian shores along the bottom of the card, stamped the sentiment and the arrow in new leaf. I took a piece of new leaf paper, used the PTI large scallop die and then stamped the * along the scallops with the hawaiian shores ink. A small gem in the center of the * next to the "Sincere thanks" and the card is complete.

Are you ready for the big party at PTI tonight? I am! But first, check out Nichole Heady's blog for more inspiration! And when you are finished there, check out Lisa Johnson, Melissa Bickford, Alli Miles, Heather Nichols and Dawn McVey. They have been showing peeks all week!

Sneak Peek: Get To The Point {milestone birthdays}

Isn't it fun to celebrate milestone birthdays? At least when it is not your own! This year, Todd turns 40! FINALLY! And his cousin, Robin turns 50! I made a few milestone birthday cards for the occasions!

Kraft seems to be very fun for a masculine card. This one uses a kraft base with a little red and black accents. I stamped the arrow with the PTI white pigment ink, then while it was still wet, ran it through some ultra fine glitter, which grabs onto the ink. Finish it with some hairspray to coat it and keep those blingers on there! I used the 40 from the set with versamark ink on the bottom....a strip of poppy cardstock, pierced along the top and bottom. A simple black button and some black PTI gingham ribbon ...boom! One milestone card done....
skip a decade and this beauty seems to work well. I used some of PTI designer paper in spring rain on the white base, then ruffled some white sheer polkadot ribbon on the bottom of the card, added a double button with some rustic twine to hold them together. "The Big" are from the sentiment set and the "50" and the brackets are from the main set. Such a simple card, hope Robin likes it!

Are you getting tired of the sneak peeks - I swear that I could keep going like the energizer bunny with this set -the possibilities are ENDLESS! Tomorrow, thank you notes and love notes!

Sneak Peek: Get To The Point {This Way To Birthday Fun}

Here is a simple card which I created with some Die Cuts With A View paper on the background. I simply stamped the arrow in Scarlet Jewel ink, stamped the "this way to" in new leaf, and the "birthday" in Spring Rain ink. The "fun" was stamped off once with hibiscus ink.
Wouldn't it be cute to tuck your gift card or a nice crisp twenty inside the card? THAT IS WHAT I CALL BIRTHDAY FUN!

The white layer was mounted on a layer of spring rain cardstock. I added three buttons, one with some new leaf ribbon, the other with some rustic twine, which I ran through my new leaf ink pad to create coordinating twine.

What do you think so far of the sneak peeks?

Sneak Peek: Get To The Point {Genuine Friend}

I am glad you liked yesterday's card! YAY! Here is one that I created using both the Get To The Point and Get To The Point Sentiments. I wanted to create a card for one of those friends....you know the kind.....you post on facebook that you need support and they are the first to call! You know they would drop everything, pick up a box of chocolate and some tissues, head over to your house and let you vent! That is the kind of friend they are and this is the kind of friend you need!

I used some lemon tart cardstock as my base, added this awesome designer paper (which I picked up at CHA this year in a stack, but I have no idea who made it. I am sorry that I didn't write down the manufacturer of the paper, because it is beautiful. It came in a sample pack, stapled together. If anyone knows what company manufactured the paper, please let me know! I would love to give proper credit). I added some lemon tart ribbon and the sentiment and brackets with summer sunrise ink. The sentiments "genuine" and "friend" are from the sentiment set which is going to be available for $5 on May 15. Yes....$5! The bracket is from the Get To The Point set, which as such a variety of symbols and images....you will be stamping away for hours! You can take this simple layout and change the color scheme and sentiment and have anything from a birthday card to a thank you note! {dancing with joy!!!}

Tomorrow, I am going to showcase the set using some of the fun images, coupled with some of the sentiments from the $5 set. WOOHOO! {still dancing}

Nichole Heady is showcasing this set on her blog alone with Heather Nichols new fillable frames #4 set.

Lisa Johnson, Melissa Bickford, Alli Miles and Dawn McVey all have peeks at their newest stamp sets as well! Are you ready to rumble?????

Sneak Peek: Get To The Point {Happy Birthday to you}

Welcome to the beginning of the sneak peeks for Get To The Point, my latest FreckledAndFun stamp set being released from Papertrey Ink.

I drive the same route EVERY day to preschool. I feel like I am in autopilot! Every day, I see the same truck sitting by a convenience store with a HUGE arrow made out of coffee beans. My lightbulb went off one day, thinking of all the fun designs I could create with arrows. You see arrows everywhere....from packaging to street signs. You emphasize your statement by pointing to it with an arrow! This set will allow you to create everything from scrapbook pages to cards and tags....

Get To The Point ($24 includes 43 images) and Get To The Point Sentiments ($5 includes 18 images to create a variety of sentiments to coordinate with the Get To The Point stamp set) is going to be available on May 15 from Papertrey Ink.

For this card, I had just wrapped a birthday present for Jamie (Sophie's friend) and had some leftover paper. It was so cute and girly and I really loved the pink, blue and yellow together. I needed to make a card to go with the present so I trimmed up the leftover wrapping paper and added a strip to the white card base. I found that the Hawaiian shores paper matched perfectly and a little scrap of the lemon tart fit well in my scalloped circle punch. I stamped the sentiments and arrow with Hibiscus ink and then stamped "to" with black ink. I had some fun velvet rick rack and had Sophia pick out buttons for the card. I threaded them with the rustic thread and attached them to the bottom of the card! Fun card with some recycled materials from my scrap area!

Stay tuned this week for more ideas with my new stamp set Get To The Point, which will be available for purchase on May 15!

There is so much inspiration to be found out there on the Papertrey Blogs today! Wait until you see what Nichole Heady has on her blog with her fun new Up, Up & Away set. And check out the same set on Betsy Veldman's blog! WOW! My fellow Papertrey Ink stamp designers Lisa Johnson, Heather Nichols, Melissa Bickford, Alli Miles and Dawn McVey all have peeks at their newest stamp sets as well! I am telling you - the eye candy will make you salivate with delight!

Papertrey Ink Sneak Peek # 5!!!!

I have been waiting to share the sneak peek of my stamp set which is going to be unveiled this week by Nichole and the amazing PTI design team. This set is so FUN! I cannot wait for you to see all the fun things that this set can create!

FS170: Ltecler

Man oh Man! We had some serious wind here last night - I shut down the computer pretty darn quick to avoid my mac getting surged! Happy Mother's Day everyone - I enjoyed a nice morning breakfast from Todd & the kids - then we went to church and now I am sipping a Chai Latte and uploading to my blog while the kids watch tv.

Here is a special card which I made for my mom -- the mother of five, grandmother of nine (ten if you count Todd)! I am going to give it to her with this adorable bag we made for her! The kids drew their faces on a sheet of paper which we transferred to a canvas bag!

On to the card - this week's FS is Lori, whom I had the pleasure of being on the Kitchen Sink Stamp design team IONS ago! Lori has a great clean style! I fell in love with her gallery and especially was drawn to the {clean spring colors here}. I changed the stamp set and the colors for my card.

I started with a pale plum 4.25 square card base and stamped the swirl from {Fabulous Flourishes} on the middle of the card. Then I decided to punch out a piece of perfect plum in a scalloped circle. I stamped the flower in black and colored it with copic markers. I then added a gem inside the center. I tucked some polkadot ribbon folded in half under the circle. I raised the main image up on dimensionals and added the sentiment in the lower corner. The sentiment is from {Big Birthday Wishes}, also from Our Craft Lounge.

Happy Mother's Day - to everyone who has been, is, or will be a mom!

Stamps: Our Craft Lounge {Fabulous Flourishes}, {Big Birthday Wishes}
Paper: SU! pale plum, perfect plum, white
Ink: Black, copics, perfect plum
misc: gem, ribbon, punches (circle, scalloped circle), dimensionals

FS169: Eliotstamps

This week's featured stamper is Michelle - aka Eliotstamps. I created my card based on {this card} by Michelle (and Eliot, her cat). I changed the colors, stamp set, and added the sentiment to the bottom.

I started with a white base, then used some DCWV glitter paper atop pumpkin pie cardstock. A smidge of celery green and then the main image was stamped wiht black ink on pumpkin pie. I used some sakura colored startdust pens on the birthday cake, along with some copic markers. The main image was punched with a scallop circle punch and layered on the punched celery circle with dimensionals. The sentiment is stamped on pumpkin pie with black ink and punched with the word window punch. It is also attached to the card with dimensionals. I used some PTI ribbon on the card and used a white pen to create the dots on the scalloped circle.

So, changes:
  • stamp set
  • colors
  • added sentiment to bottom

stamps: Our Craft Lounge {Happy Shopping}
paper: pumpkin, celery, white, DCWV
ink: black, copics, sakura stardust, white marker
misc: ribbon, dimensionals, punches (word window, circle, scalloped circle)
