Blog Hop Sneak Peeks: Patriotic Parade

This cute stamp set is another on being released by Our Craft Lounge. Patriotic Parade is a compilation of adorable images and sentiments! You are going to love it!

I love the look of Kraft with reds and blues....what a great combo for the most fun summer holiday! Layers of white, navy and kraft with a hint of red designer paper. I used the swiss dots folder on the kraft layer. I also used some buttons which I had laying on my desk -- I threaded some white ribbon through the buttons and adhered them on the side of the card. The images were colored with copics and I added a bit of stickles to the stripes and the stars....

paper: white, kraft, navy, designer paper {DCWV}

Blog Hop Sneak Peek: Fabulous Florals

Welcome to the Blog Hop Sneak Peek for Our Craft Lounge! YAY! This cute little set {Fabulous Florals} is what I used to create this card:

I had some fun patterned paper, pale blue with green polkadots. I think it is some DCWV paper that I picked up at the local big box craft store. I used some of my leftover wasabi textured cardstock and cut the card into a square. The set was stamped on white cardstock and colored with copics. I stamped the flower twice and colored it, then layered it with dimensionals. I used some stickles on each petal. I stamped "friend" {from Spring Sketches} in wasabi ink. I used a little ribbon, a button and some white making memories thread in the button to finish off the card.

Hop on over to some of the other blogs to check out the amazing stamps which Our Craft Lounge is releasing!

FS168: GloriousGreetings

this weeks card is based on {this card} by SCS's GloriousGreetings, aka....Gloria! I love the name Gloria, mainly because of the Song by Laura Branigan. Gloria.....You're always On the run now...

(for those fellow Gloria song lovers, I put the the song down under my supplies!)...

This is a simple card using two OCL sets - Say it big (sentiment) and Spring Sketches (flower). I stamped the flower in dark chocolate ink, then colored it with copics. The flower was trimmed and mounted with dimensionals. I placed a papertrey brown button in the center with some rustic thread placed inside it. Some fun chocolate and blue/teal ribbon under the scalloped squares. Sentiment in the bottom corner.

There were some changes from the original card:

I used a flower, not a butterfly. I also didn't use the ribbon frame, I used a scalloped edge layered square instead. I kept the colors (browns and teal/blues). Instead of using the white embossed layer, I used some designer paper.

stamps: Say it big and Spring Sketches {our craft lounge}
paper: white, celery, chocolate, designer paper (my minds eye)
ink: chocolate, copics
misc: rustic thread, scalloped squares, PTI button, ribbon (mayarts), dimensionals

(and just for fun)

Gloria, you're always on the run now
Running after somebody, you gotta get him somehow
I think you've got to slow down before you start to blow it
I think you're headed for a breakdown, so be careful not to show it

You really don't remember, was it something that he said?
Are the voices in your head calling, Gloria?
Gloria, don't you think you're fallin'?
If everybody wants you, why isn't anybody callin'?
You don't have to answer
Leave them hangin' on the line, oh-oh-oh, calling Gloria
Gloria (Gloria), I think they got your number (Gloria)
I think they got the alias (Gloria) that you've been living under (Gloria)
But you really don't remember, was it something that they said?
Are the voices in your head calling, Gloria?

A-ha-ha, a-ha-ha, Gloria, how's it gonna go down?
Will you meet him on the main line, or will you catch him on the rebound?
Will you marry for the money, take a lover in the afternoon?
Feel your innocence slipping away, don't believe it's comin' back soon

And you really don't remember, was it something that he said?
Are the voices in your head calling, Gloria?
Gloria, don't you think you're fallin'?
If everybody wants you, why isn't anybody callin'?
You don't have to answer
Leave them hangin' on the line, oh-oh-oh, calling Gloria
Gloria (Gloria), I think they got your number (Gloria)
I think they got the alias (Gloria) that you've been living under (Gloria)
But you really don't remember, was it something that they said?
Are the voices in your head calling, Gloria?

(Gloria, Gloria, Gloria, Gloria, Gloria)
(Gloria, Gloria, Gloria, Gloria, Gloria)

FS167: Dara

Good Evening! I am exhausted .... we are having my dad's 70th birthday party tomorrow here at the Silaika compound....and I have been cleaning. I took a quick break to make a card for this week's featured stamper challenge. This is the first time I think that I have inked up this set...it's called Spring Sketches from Our Craft Lounge. It's really cute. Not sure I did it any justice....but what the hey!

I used Dara's card {here} and created this version. Fiddlesticks -- I think it is a sketch challenge card...but I am too dang tired to go back and make another ... so I will make due with this one. Ayecarumba!

I used some chocolate chip paper, some old SU! designer paper and some deep brown polkadot ribbon from May arts for this card. The changes from Dara's card: no ribbon on the bottom, different colors and different stamp set. I actually stamped the tulip portion twice, once on a small piece of white....colored and trimmed it out then placed it with dimensionals atop the main image. I also used some two way glue pen and some glitter on the flower to give it some bling! I stamped the sentiment, but now looking at it, it appears a little crooked....I must be REALLY tired! :)

I need to go get some sleep and finish cleaning tomorrow! Happy Stamping and HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!

Stamps: OCL {Spring Sketches}
Paper: chocolate chip, designer paper (SU!), white
Ink: dark chocolate (PTI), copic markers
Misc: ribbon, dimensionals, glitter

FS165: Theresacc

This week's featured stamper is TheresaCC from SCS. I stumbled on her gallery and perused her blog this week. I think the CC stands for COPIC COLORING! WOW! She does an amazing job coloring -- her blog shows some great tips on coloring too.

I decided to try to CASE her pressed flower card. I changed the colors and the stamp set. I used the new Hawaiian shores color with dark chocolate -- what a yummy combo! I stamped the leaf from Springtime Doodles in dark chocolate ink on the base of the card. I stamped the butterfly in dark chocolate on white cardstock (which has scored edges, courtesy of my scor-pal), then colored it in with copic markers and finished it off with some sakura stardust. I stamped the sentiment with dark chocolate ink, then added some E59 dots.... the ribbon is a simple snip of ribbon with a v cut on the end, folded over. I used a Hawaiian shores button and some vintage thread tied in a bow. I adhered the button with some dimensionals. I stamped the envelope to match!

Happy Easter Everyone!
