The accident:

Back on August 25, while on our family summer vacation, my oldest daughter (Karen, age 13) and my husband, Todd were severely injured while parasailing in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. They were life-flighted to a trauma hospital in Norfolk, Va. Todd suffered a spinal cord injury amongst other very severe injuries. After a week in the trauma hospital, Todd was able to take an angel-flight/air-ambulance to a local rehabilitation hospital in our area.

Karen was also injured quite severely, but has since returned to school. I appreciate all the prayers, cards, positive thoughts for their (and our entire families) healing. It will be a few more weeks before I return to stamping and blogging. Thank you for your patience!

FS236: Penny for your thoughts....

This week's featured stamper is Penny - pawallen142 on SCS.

The card which I really loved was the simple, clean {insightful meadows} card.

I changed the colors and stamp set. I used the flower from Springtime doodles with fresh snow ink on this awesome glittery turquoise cardstock (DCWV mat pack). I die cut the butterfly with some coordinating glitter paper from the pack. I did a fun bow with some PTI ribbon and then placed a tiny orange button inside the butterfly. Simple and cute! Love it! I love that I can use this card for just about any occasion! Just grab and go - stamp a sentiment inside! :)

stamps: Springtime Doodles (PTI)
paper: DCWV glitter paper (mat pack)
ink: fresh snow (PTI)
misc: Button, dimensionals (under butterfly), ribbon (PTI)

FS235: Daiseyfreak

Oh Joy! This week's featured stamper is DaiseyFreak. Here is her {chicken} card... which I thought was very case-able! I changed the colors and stamp set and replaced the brads with some bling!

I used some DCWV paper, some PTI cardstock (chocolate, hawaiian shores and white) -- the ribbon is PTI and a butterfly punch. The green gems are from PTI. Sentiment is from PTI's Inside & Out Birthday. Butterfly punch is on dimensionals, as is the main image.

stamps: Inside & Out Birthday (PTI)
ink: avocado
paper: DCWV, chocolate, white, hawaiian shores
misc: dimensionals, punches, green gems (PTI)

Drop the M! Now FreckledandFun.co

Three years ago (after an unfortunate incident when someone decided to take my blog name!)...I purchased a website domain name corresponding to my freckledandfun blog (to redirect people to my blog easier). I purchased the domain name with my credit card and over the past three years, the credit card number has changed (probably several times). Lost credit cards reissued, bank security breech...new cards arrived on a regular basis. Fast forward to the middle of the night on August 1, when Go Daddy went to "auto-renew" and the credit card wouldn't go through... so they cancelled my website altogether. Frustrating! Within hours of the cancellation, someone in Romania decided to grab the website....Probably to try and solicit me and get money out of me.....

So now, I am dropping the M -- and I have a .co account for easy access to all things freckledandfun! It is the newest, global website extention!

Please feel free to update your blog roll if I was on it -- thank you!

FS233: Mocjen

This week's featured stamper is Jennie - aka MOCJEN on SCS. Here is the card which I chose to case: {OWL60 Sunset}

changes: stamp set - used designer paper instead of stamping the background color

I really liked the clean look of her one layer card - but instead of the stamped background in pinks, I used some designer paper. I used the flower from Delightful Dahlia and the sentiment from With Sympathy.

I stamped the flower in black ink, then used some copics to color in the flowers, with a hint of white ink on the flower. Simple, clean look. Perfect for a sympathy card.

stamps: Delightful Dahlia, With Sympathy (PTI)
paper: white, retired designer paper (SU!)
ink: black, copics, white gel pen
misc: stickles (in center of flower), decorative edge scissors

I changed the colors and stamp set, along with the theme. I used baby button bits set to create this card. Blue base, DCWV paper for the base of the card. I stamped the bear on designer paper and trimmed it out. Welcome little one is stamped on the same blue as the base.
