Notebook for Carol.....

I made this notebook for Todd's secretary. It was her birthday this week! I had received a *beautiful* gift this past Christmas from my friend Cindy. She made mine with the most beautiful memory box papers and this amazing sentiment. I *heart* it so much - I thought it would make a great gift for Carol!
Cindy had stamped the front of mine with this sentiment and I recreated it with a .png file which I created in Adobe. "Make each day your masterpiece". I folded the notebook cover using my scor-pal and used some fun Mayarts ribbon to hold the notebook closed. The main image is done with the nestabilities. Martha butterfly
punch outlined with a pink sakura stardust pen.The ribbon threads under the main sentiment courtesy of two small punches on either side of the sentiment (SU! punch) and goes around back (under a piece of white cardstock to give the notebook some additional support.
The top of the notebook is covered in the reverse side of the patterned paper (the same paper was used for the butterflies).
There is a pocket on the left side!
Fun gift! Thank you for the idea Cindy!

paper: Stampin' Up! retired
misc: notebook, Mayarts ribbon, nestabilities, butterfly punch (Martha), small punch (SU!)

Name Frames: Sean & Evan

I
had *promised* name frames for Todd's business partner's wife for their twin boys soon after they were born. Thankfully, I got them done before the boys turned one year old. I knew what I needed to do, but sometimes finding the time between monthly projects and design work is impossible.I was able to stamp the letters one day and let them dry. The letters are stamped in craft ink - so it is really important to heat set them or let them dry thoroughly! I guess 3 months drying time is good! {wink!}
I use craft ink so that the color does not fade over time (at least that is what Shelli tells me!).
I used the elephant (per request) from Wild about you! and the letters from Letterpress Alphabet {Stampin' Up!}.
The elephant is stamped in celery ink (craft) then the first letter of the name was stamped in Artichoke craft ink. I trimmed the first letter of the name & the elephant out and mounted it on a 2 inch high piece of white cardstock. Each letter is carefully trimmed and mounted on a 2 1/4 inch high piece of artichoke cardstock.
The first layer of the frame is celery cardstock, dry pressure embossed with the Traffic embossing folder {EclecticPaperie}. I use a strip of Night of Navy cardstock, then a layer of Stampin' Up! designer paper (retired). A piece of celery striped mayarts (Starlitstudio) ribbon goes across the frame, just under the letters. The letters are mounted on dimensionals.
I finished each frame with some buttons. My friend Pine hates neked buttons! I used some hemp to tie up the buttons and give them that finished look!
What do you think?

stamps: Wild about you! & Letterpress Alphabet (Stampin' Up!)
ink: craft artichoke & celery
paper: celery, navy, white, artichoke, designer paper (SU!)
misc: buttons & hemp (SU!), cuttlebug folder (traffic), ribbon (Mayarts)

Valentines up the WAZOO!!!!

Seriously - let's total them up:Xavier: 16
Sophie: 16
Karen: 29
Victoria:26
Isabella: 25
TOTAL: 112
(Add on another 29 for Karen's friend MB who was over stamping with us last week and we have definitely hit WAZOO numbers!)
I decided to make ATC (Artist Trading Cards) Valentine cards this year. WHY? Because they are small, manageable and there is less paper waste.
Xavier insisted on having a tiger on his - until he saw my collection of stamps and then wanted a red alligator (Wild About You! ~SU!) Xavier's favorite color is red - so we went with the red base and the real red ink. The back of his card is stamped with the SU! set (Heart Sentiments & Simple Alphabet)
I used the Our Craft Lounge Treemendous Love set for the majority of the cards - pretty in pink or real red card base with an oval scalloped punched main image - colored in with copics. The back is stamped with their name!

Sophie's valentines are purple because she would not have it any other way! I used Heart sentiments - lovely lilac paper, tempting turqoise paper and glossy paper for the main heart. I created my own background paper using a sheet of white paper and an acrylic block - utilizing the sentiments and small hearts from the PTI set Heart Prints.

Here is the ATC template for creating 10 ATC's with one sheet of 8.5x11 cardstock!

Xavier's Valentines - paper {real red, white cardstock} ink {real red, black archival} marvy punch, Wild About You (SU!) sentiment (printing on back - PTI Simple alphabet, Heart Prints)
Girls Valentines - Our Craft Lounge - Treemendous Love, paper {real red, pretty in pink, pink passion, white}, ink {black archival, copics}, marvy scalloped punch
Sophie's Valentines - paper {lovely lilac, black, tempting turqoise, white}, ink {lovely lilac, black}, stamp: Papertrey Ink {Heart Prints}, heart punch

Inspirational page....

I made this 6x6 page for an inspirations book for a friend. Several of us are putting together a few pages to let our friend know how much we care.
I created my own designer paper with the Garden of Life set by Alli Miles. I love this set and it was easy to take some perfect match inks and create a beautiful background. I started with a 5x5 piece of white cardstock and some ink: lemon tart & summer sun for the daisies and sweet blush and berry sorbet for the mums. I used avocado and moss for the leaves. I spritzed the background white space with some cherub pink glimmer mist. I found some 6x6 designer paper in a pad on my desk - it is the SU! paper pad from last season. It's gotta go people! Out with the old!
After heat setting the glimmer mist to speed up the drying process, I adhered it to the designer paper. I then stamped the sentiment on some Mayarts white twill. I used the berry sorbet ink and the sentiment from the Garden of Life set. It was so easy to stamp it with the ink. I adhered the twill with a little mono adhesive to secure it in place. Then I sewed around the whole project with a zig zag stitch. I used some saffron brads on each side of the sentiment - for show! That's it....
What do you think? What other color combos could you come up with for these beautiful flowers?

stamps: Garden of Life (PTI)
ink: lemon tart, summer sunrise, sweet blush, berry sorbet, avocado & moss
misc: white cardstock, SU! designer paper (6x6)
misc: brads (saffron, SU!), twill (Mayarts), cherub pink, glimmer mist (Epaperie)

FS99: Stampfilled Dreams
Happy Holidays Everyone!~ Tonight we had our neighborhood cocktail party. Wooohooo! I did my card AFTER the party (which was here - remember the invites I did a few weeks back? We rescheduled because of the untimely passing of my uncle last week.) This evening we had everyone over and it was a blast. I was cleaning thisafternoon, so no time to make the card prior to the party. I went into my office after the guests all left and whipped up this card. Sure I had a glass of wine and the card is a little messy! But it is a thank you note, and I need several of them this time of year! Who else sends out thank you notes for all the wonderful holiday gifts? I am making my kids!
This week's FS is Barbara Schram, aka Stampfilled Dreams on SCS. Here is her gallery! Egads it is wonderful!
The card is based on Barbara's Card HERE. It is super elegant with all the white! I loved it! I changed the second color from purple to celery. I used the tree from Snow Swirled and the thank you sentiment from PTI mixed messages. I distressed the edges, used some crystal effects and glitter (that is where you can see the messiness - blob blob blob), and instead of the corner rounded black strip, I used the tag punch on it's side. Three pearls on the bottom and it is done!
Can you believe that we are nearly at 100 Featured Stampers???? Oh My Gosh, who will next week's stamper be? Hmmm! I have much to ponder over the next week!

stamps: SU! Snow Swirled, PTI mixed messages
paper: white, black, celery (SU!)
ink: celery, archival black
misc: pin, ribbon (SU!), glitter and crystal effects, pearls, SU! tag punch

FS98: PaulaTracy
I am sorry that I have not posted much this week. On Wednesday night, my mom's brother passed away. It was quite unexpected, so we have been doing quiet family time. It is also a really busy time of the year for everyone...getting ready for the holidays...so I have been able to occupy my thoughts to holiday peace and joy, instead of the sorrow of my family's loss.
Saturday is my day to stamp, and I am still in the holiday frame of mind...so here is my card. This is Snow Swirled from Stampin' Up! The sentiment is from Papertrey ink's Holiday Treats.
This week's featured stamper is Paula Tracy Here is Paula's card: {Baby Buttercup} in her SCS gallery. I don't have that adorable stamp set - so I decided to use the SU! Snow Swirled set. I start
ed with a cream base, then added some designer paper. I used a strip of hunter with a layer of vanilla paper - stamped with moss, hunter and artichoke. I stamped the tree with papertrey ink's new vintage cream . I would have used my vanilla from SU! if it hadn't dried up! Dangit! I put the ink (still wet) and sprinkled glitter on it. The glitter grabs to the ink. Fun! (spritz with hairspray to seal it). I stamped the Papertrey sentiment (Holiday cheer) with vintage cream on the hunter and punched it with the small oval punch. The scalloped rectangle was done with a nestability. Some ribbon (cream organza) tied in a bow (I slit a small hole in the top of the card with an exacto knife). The main image is placed on the card with dimensionals.
The changes from the original card -

stamps: Stampin' Up! Snow Swirled and Papertrey Ink Holiday Treats
ink: vintage cream, moss, artichoke, hunter
paper: cream (unknown source), {SU! vanilla, hunter, designer paper}
misc: glitter, dimensionals, oval punch (small, SU!), nestabilities

- colors - I did a monochrome green, vanilla instead of the pinks and whites in Paula's card
- stamp set - I used SU! Snow Swirled
- punch - I did rectangle instead of the ovals. I used the small oval punch instead of the tag punch.

RV Sweet RV

One of my *FAVORITE* memories growing up was camping with my family. When you have a big family, you camp. It's written in the rule book! :)
My parents started with a tent, then got the pop up, then the small RV. Now they have this mammoth RV that they leave parked year round in Lake George. The kids love to go up there and do overnights. They hit the beach during the day, take showers with their flip flops on, eat BBQ for dinner and toast s'mores at night.
Before they got the big RV, I fondly remember taking the RV to Cape Cod, Rhode Island, Florida (Disney). We camped ALL OVER! One time I remember going to Cape Cod. My dad had issues backing up - he would back up, my mom would try and direct him into the spot....there would be lots of cursing and *$&#! Betty! This one time, the five of us were in the van with the dog, my dad was trying to back up in the DARK in a small camp site...my mom was directing him in.... He kept yelling and cursing. Of course the five of us were all giggling. (I have tears as I am typing this). My dad starts yelling, "Jessum Betty, I cannot turn around....I cannot see.....I cannot turn around...and somebody farted!". We just about lost it.....the dog (Frodo, our Carin Terrier) had ripped one and my dad was screaming at my mom because he couldn't back up without taking a tree limb in the RV. Oh, Good Times, Good Times.
Okay - so I made the frame for their RV. I used a frame I found in my stash. It's 5x7 in these metallic earth tones. I used georgia pacific white with my black soot ranger ink. That seems to work well for me when coloring with copics. I stamped the Riley in the trailer twice - to pop his head out - Can you see it! There's my mom - "Dick, keep coming back, turn the wheel to the right!" And there is my dad, driving the van, cursing! The trees are stamped, colored with copics and cut out and mounted to the 5x7 with dimensionals. There is sakura stardust on the wheels and the AC unit atop the trailer. The RV SWEET RV was stamped with Whimsical Alphabet....
I am going to give this to them for Christmas....

paper: GP white
ink: black soot, copics

This simple invite is something that we mass produced in Victoria's brownie troop meeting for Birthday bags. Each bag got invitations (made by the brownies), a cake mix, frosting, plates and other party supplies. The bags are for our local food pantry. We hope to brighten the lives of people who cannot afford to buy invitations and cakes for their child's birthday party. They can grab a bag and have an instant party. Cute and simple!

FS91: Becca Stamps
One word describes Becca Stamps Gallery: AMAZING! Seriously. Just stunning stuff in there!!!
Here is the card which I cased: Get Well Soon
Changes to the card:
Details of the card: I started out with a white 5x5 base. I used some textured DCWV brown cardstock, then used a layer of green designer paper from My Minds Eye. I cuttlebugged the green with the paisley cuttlebug folder (available at eclecticpaperie). I added a 3x3 square layer of artichoke with whisper white atop it. I tied some fun green ribbon around the white square and secured it to the card. Then I took my oval punch (scalloped) and punched out a piece of that My Minds Eye green. I stamped the butterfly from Stampin' Up!® set flight of the butterfly in celery. The polkadot layer is artichoke. I used artichoke for the sentiment. Three celery baubles in the lower corner. Quick note: stamp solid layer, then polkadot layer, then use your oval punch. Gives you the perfect alignment.

stamps: flight of the butterfly {Stampin' Up!®}
paper: white, artichoke, designer paper {dcwv, my minds eye}
ink: artichoke, celery

FS90: Speedystamper
Tonight I was uploading my photos from the small Sony cybershot (WHICH I HATE) and got distracted, posted a blog post with NOTHING IN IT but the title! Grrr!
Now I {heart} my canon rebel, but I loathe this stupid little SONY! I hate the delay, I hate the way it takes pictures, they come out grainy and blurry. Sometimes I turn the stupid thing on and it zooms in all the way and doesn't let you take a photo. It isn't as nicely compliant with my mac and it frustrates me. I wish they made a mini canon rebel. Todd and Karen go to China in less than a month and I need to find a camera for them to take with them. Todd doesn't want big, he wants compact. Any suggestions?
Onwards to the FS card:
I cased Kay's card Dreams Embraced. I loved the way it looked. What a great layout! I changed things to Pink for Pink week on SCS. I am bringing up the rear of challenge week. SAVIN THE BEST FOR LAST I SAY!!!!
So my changes to the card are the colors (to pink and black). I also eliminated the sentiment and used 3 eyelets. I changed the background to embossed (from a background stamp) and changed the strips to patterned paper (from stamping). I used my crop-a-dile. I haven't used eyelets in so long that I forgot how to use it and the little polkie thing got stuck inside. I have to see if I can get it out...anyone have any suggestions?
I digress easily tonight! I stamped the image with black soot ink and then colored it with copics. I used the ticket corner punch, I added some glitter and popped it up on dimensionals. Easy peasy!
And finally, A big happy birthday to my Super K! Eleven years old today! My baby is growing up!

stamps: Dreams du Jour
paper: pink passion, basic black, white, DCWV
ink: black soot, copics
misc: dimensionals, glitter, cb embossing folder (stylized flowers)/eclecticpaperie, tag corner punch, eyelets

October Fun:

I started doing a fun craft day after school with some of the teachers in the local elementary school. One of the projects we did this month was domino pins. I used several stamp sets to create these pins. Autumn Apparitions is a retired SU! set from last years holiday mini catalog. I covered the dominos with three colors of alcohol inks, then stamped the image with archival black ink. Add a small pin to the back and it makes a GREAT holiday pin. What a wonderful teacher gift. I used a smidge of the green leaf ribbon (I got mine from Starlitstudio). They also sell this at Papertrey. It is a fun simple craft you can do with your kids. Just make sure they wear rubber gloves and you are able to assist them with the pin on the back. Take one drop of each color ink (butterscotch, terra cotta, caramel) and apply to felt pad. Place pad on handle and pounce directly on domino. No special preparation necessary for domino since you are using alcohol ink.
Happy Stampin'

Stamps: Autumn Aparitions
Ink: Ranger alcohol ink (eclecticpaperie), ranger archival black
dominos, pins (local craft store), ribbon (leaf ribbon/starlitstudio)
