This is a little project I created for the coordinator of our after school bowling program. Every year she coordinates the Winter Discovery program, which introduces the students to a variety of activities that they would normally not have the opportunity to participate in. She coordinates the WHOLE thing - I teach stamping - and every week, I see her at the bowling alley. She oversees the volunteers and the kids - makes sure the kids all have their shoes - they get sent home with the right parents - it's a time consuming and THANKLESS effort! So I thought she would like a little journal for her purse to keep notes in -
I had a small (3.5x5 inch) yellow legal pad (it was so adorable I hated to part with it!) I took a piece of tempting turqoise cardstock (5 1/8x 8 inches) and scored it at 3 5/8 and 3 7/8. I used the cuttlebug spots and dots folder for the front cover. The images are all stamped on white cardstock and colored with copic markers. I carefully trimmed out the images and placed them on a 1 3/8 inch circle punched piece of white cardstock with dimensionals. The lilac layer was cut with a nestability punch.
Some items of note - the bowling ball was stamped on pink passion paper, then I applied 5 layers of versamark and clear embossing powder to make the bowling ball shine. It has that sheen like you see on the balls in the alley! I always loved finding the light balls in my favorite color! :)
The inside of the organizer has a piece of pink passion cardstock wrapped over the top of the legal pad. I carefully punched the pink passion with the scalloped edge punch and scored and wrapped it around the top of the pad. The pad is glued to the cardstock - so it is in there nice and firm! The small pink passion pencil is adhered with a velcro dot to the extra edge of the organizer. I hope she likes it!!!
